I know this site says “larrythemathguy”, but another side of this life I’ve been leading is music, particularly singing and playing guitar. For most of my teaching career, I taught English, including ESL, and Language Arts. helping kids get the hang of reading. Music was a fun and effective way to get that cognitive door to open. Over the years I made a songbook with 36 songs from the who-knows-how-many songs that the kids and I sang together over the last 50+ years.
Eventually, I hope to tell you more about the songs themselves, where they come from, and how they fit into the art (and maybe the science, too) of getting kids into reading. But for now, you can skip all that (since it doesn’t exist yet) and go to LARRY’S SONGBOOK in the menubar.
